Who Needs Physical Therapy After Hip Replacement Surgery in College Station?
If you’ve had total or partial hip replacement surgery, structured rehabilitation is critical to:
- Eliminate post-surgical pain and stiffness.
- Rebuild strength, flexibility, and mobility.
- Improve balance, coordination, and walking mechanics.
- Regain the ability to perform daily activities safely and confidently.
- Prevent complications such as dislocations and falls.
No matter how long ago your surgery was, Recalibrate Osteopractic and Wellness creates a therapy plan tailored to your specific recovery needs.
Why Physical Therapy is Essential for Full Recovery

- Reduce Pain & Swelling – Targeted techniques alleviate discomfort and inflammation.
- Restore Mobility & Flexibility – Gradual movement exercises ensure full range of motion.
- Rebuild Strength – Strengthening the hip, legs, and core stabilizes your new joint.
- Improve Balance & Walking Mechanics – Gait training corrects limping and prevents falls.
- Regain Functionality – Functional movement training prepares you for everyday tasks like climbing stairs and bending safely.

I needed physical therapy for a cervical disc issue and was in significant pain with sleepless nights. I initially went to Advance Physical Therapy, but there I ended up seeing a different aide or technician every session and only met the therapist once. On top of that, I had to explain my condition over and over, an exhausting process, especially while already dealing with so much pain. I found Recalibrate Osteopractic & Wellness while desperately searching for a better option, and working with Tate was a completely different experience. He is not only highly experienced but also genuinely invested in his patients’ recovery. Every session was one-on-one with him, which made a huge difference. He always took the time to listen, track my progress, and clearly explain the treatment plan. I never felt rushed or overlooked. Tate worked diligently and methodically to help me recover, and I am truly grateful for his care. I highly recommend Recalibrate Osteopractic & Wellness to anyone looking for skilled, consistent, and patient-centered physiotherapy. His professionalism and commitment are outstanding.

I am 55 years old and have been dealing with tightness and pain in my right hip for several years. My wife finally made me go to an orthopedic surgeon to get it checked out. He took an x-ray and “examined” me for about 12 seconds. He told me I had arthritis and need to have a hip replacement. I tried to explain to him that my pain was not in my hip joint, but in the tendons and muscles around it. It felt like a constant spasm. He would not listen and just insisted that I would be having my hip replaced in a year. Next, I went to a chiropractor who did a few things to stretch my hip, but kept insisting that I needed to have my back adjusted. Nope, not for me. Frustrated to say the least, I was talking to the owner of my gym about the whole situation. He suggested that I talk to Tate, the physical therapist that was working out of the gym. I spent a few minutes explaining to Tate what I was feeling and we decided to set up an initial session. He stretched and pulled, trying to gain some space in my hip which at this point was very tight and lacked mobility. It felt fantastic and as I told him, it was exactly what was needed. As I continued to see Tate regularly over the next several months I started to notice a real change. My mobility began to increase and my pain began to decrease. I would say my pain has decreased by 80% and the tightness has decreased by 90%! It has been life changing. I even ran up a flight of stairs one day without even thinking about it. When I got to the top I stopped and realized what a big deal that is. I do the stretches that he gave me to do at home regularly and have a monthly session with Tate to evaluate and maintain. Working with Tate has been great! He listened to what I needed and he has kept me from going through an unnecessary and unwanted surgery. I highly recommend his services and have suggested seeing him to anyone that tells me they are having an issue with pain.
